Yes - UV is the main durability factor here. Consumer-grade housings chalk and yellow, lenses cloud, adhesives release, and cheap wire insulation goes brittle. A retail-box system installed in December often looks visibly tired by the following summer. Everything we install is specified for outdoor UV exposure. If a quote does not mention UV rating, ask.

What about monsoon season?

Monsoon runs July through September with sudden wind and driven rain, and it finds unsealed connections. Every junction box and fixture we install is sealed and outdoor-rated, and we plan exposed electrical work around monsoon activity rather than through it.

Will the lighting spill onto the mountain or bother my neighbors?
